Debt Consolidation of Student Loans

Student loans may well be the scariest form of loan imaginable. You get a student loan when you are a student, perhaps as a very young person.

You probably are not sure exactly what you will do when you graduate, but you need the money to go to school, so you agree to the loan.

You graduate, but then find you need to refinance a student loan because your income is lower than expected, or because you cannot afford to make the payments for other reasons.

Student loans can be very scary.

As governments have reduced the funding for colleges and universities over the years, students have been forced to pay more of the costs of their education, and since most students are not wealthy, they can only do this through student loans.

Even worse, in both the United States and Canada there are special rules governing student loans and bankruptcy, so in most cases you can't even go bankrupt to get rid of your student loans.

For that reason, for many people the only way to deal with student loans is through a debt consolidation loan, as discussed in the following articles:

There are ways to deal with student loan debt, and for many former students a debt consolidation loan is the best way to get back on track financially.
